WELCOME
I’m Annmarie founder of Raca Rara
Raca Rara Vintage Fashion and Travel Inspiration for seekers, creatives, and wanderers in search of nomadic sophistication, for the exotic and unconventional, for those of a rare breed. Exploring hot spots on the Nomad Map and all things Retro and Chic for your journey.
How did I get here? I have always been “different” a little bit of a loner.
For me… I have always leaned toward the unconventional…a little outside the box in my choices. I am a seeker, a creative, a wanderer, exotic in my fashion and lifestyle choices. I need to move freely, travel off the beaten path…and often.
I need to roll out my yoga mat wherever my travels take me,…to sit in meditation, spend time in ashrams, in bohemian outposts…and at far flung beaches… and those close to home, to take inner journeys as well as outer journeys.
To do all of this I had to get real about what I am good at and let go of what I am not, I had to let go of the guilt and stop apologizing for being “not like other girls” …and when I turned my focus on what I have figured out and stepped into my authentic self…I realized what I really wanted was to collect experiences, beautiful and unique things, make art, travel, learn, and create authentic connections with others.
I offer you my gift of a journey to your “transformative fire” through Experiential Travel, Curated Collections of Vintage and Self Care Rituals.
I can guide you to uncover and embrace your authentic style through The Raca Rara Collective, or a personalized curated collection of vintage hand picked for you!
I will share my travel tips and experiences for inner and outer journeys. Where to go…how to pack…and what to do when you get there…Beauty Rituals for daily life and how bring them with you…wherever you roam.

Inspired AF Quotes from Inspired AF Women
“At sixteen Sabina took Moon baths, first of all, because everyone else took sunbaths, and second, she admitted, because she had been told it was dangerous.”
— Anais Nin
“I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it’s true I’m here, and I’m just as strange as you.”
— Frida Kahlo
“I’ve been absolutely terrified every moment of my life- and I’ve never let it keep me from doing a single thing I wanted to do.”
— Georgia O’Keeffe

What Fans May Flames?
Here are a few people, places, and things…How I stay Inspired.
1. I love historic hotels…
Especially this one. The Hotel Chelsea, once described as “the last bohemian out post”…I was lucky enough to spend quite a bit of time here before the “renovation”…I created a series of paintings for an exhibit inspired by the hotel.
2. Weird and Obscure Art Films
The Cinematography, The Fashion, The “Superstars” of the Underground…Endless Inspiration!
Fun Fact: I once rode the elevator with artist, poet, actor, and Warhol “Superstar”, Rene Ricard at the Hotel Chelsea.
3. Digging For Treasure…
I love the thrill of the hunt…hunting down and collecting vintage. Finding that stellar piece…a diamond in the rough…makes my heart skip a beat.
Fun Fact: It runs in the family…my beautiful Nana (one of my style inspirations)…worked as a shoe buyer for a place called The Bargain Center in Boston back in the 1970’s…she scored me a pair of white patent leather gogo boots…I was about 5 years old, I refused to wear anything else until I finally out grew them.
